If you've watched the Masters golf tournament this weekend or have watched any golf over the last several years then you may be like many and are tired of all other golfers being overshadowed by Tiger Woods. Tiger is no doubt the best golfer alive but it doesn't mean that he's the best golfer every tournament. Tiger can be 10 shots out of the lead and the media talks 90% about Tiger and 10% about the golfers that are leading the tournament. It's always, "don't count Tiger out", will Tiger make a great move, or how will the leaders react to the pressure of playing with Tiger.

Every week Tiger is the most talked about golfer and if Tiger loses the story is about why Tiger lost and not about how the other golfers played great to win.

It was great to see Y.E. Yang "win" the the 2009 PGA Championship instead of seeing "Tiger Lose it". Yang hit some amazing clutch shots to easily beat Tiger by a few strokes.

So how does this all relate to a business idea? Well there is a huge anti-Tiger movement and a ton of people are tired of hearing about Tiger and would love to hear more about the other golfers. This opens up a niche golf news website that could cover the top 100 golfers in the world not named Tiger Woods. Imagine if you built a reputation as the news reporter that asked non Tiger questions... the players are sick of answering Tiger questions so I guarantee that you'd get a lot of great interviews with golfers that just want to talk about golf and their game and not about how their game is affected by Tiger Woods.

Utilize the viral nature of the internet, youtube, twitter, blogging, etc... and you can quickly build a brand for yourself and gain a large audience of several million golf lovers. Your unique proposition is that you'll provide interviews, commentary, and stories about everyone but Tiger.
